Pumpkin Hemp Seed Bread

Ingredients:

3/4 cup Hemp flour
1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup Hemp seeds, 1/2 hulled and 1/2 toasted
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves and nutmeg combined
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/4 cup pumpkin
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup butter milk or regular milk
1/4 cup Hemp butter*
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
2 eggs beaten

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F. In a medium sized bowl add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, sugar and spices and mix together. In a second bowl add the pumpkin, eggs , milk, maple syrup and sugar, butter and mix. Add the dry mixture to the pumpkin and mix until smooth paste, then add seeds and or nuts, mix then turn into 9 x 5 loaf pans. Bake in oven for about 50 - 60 minutes, check with a toothpick, if toothpick comes out clean bread is ready. Remove from pan and let cool.


* Note:

Hemp seed can be ground into a paste similar to peanut butter and has a more delicate in flavor. Hemp butter has much higher nutritional value than peanut butter.
